Course Overview: Cultural Diversity and Inclusion is a common term in today’s workplace but it is often poorly misunderstood. Studies confirm that a diverse workforce strengthens and helps the employers and their employees evolve to changing needs of the clients and economy. Studies also show that inclusive workplace cultures abound in innovation, productivity, and profitability. In this course, we will discuss how working together and commitment from the management team, along with the right policies, can curb discriminatory behavior and create a culture in which everyone has opportunities to thrive.

Since 2007, R2EE Enterprises has hosted a variety of wellness and financial education classes in collaboration with those from the business community. As you know, The Cost of Caregiving is rising and will continue rising in the years to come. According to the Alzheimer's Association in 2018 Alzheimer's and other dementia will cost the nation $277 Billion. By 2050, these cost could rise as high as $1.1 Trillion. Caregivers like myself, are overwhelmed due to their loved ones not having life insurance, putting in place a will, enrolling in long term care insurance, or having something in place for when they get old, get sick, or die. The Cost of Caregiving is an issue that is on the rise due to seniors living longer and that Dallas County may encounter sooner more than later due to seniors not having enough money to pay for their own care. Again, according to Alzheimer's Association 5.7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's. African-Americans are two times more likely to develop late-onset Alzheimer’s disease than whites and are less likely to have a diagnosis of their condition, resulting in less time for treatment and planning. Furthermore, African-Americans are more prone to thinking that they have to do it all themselves, leading to increased caregiver burden and stress. This event is something you do not want to miss!
