Angela Willis is the Founder of the Road to Economic Empowerment Enterprises. Road to Economic Empowerment Enterprises is a 501(c3) non profit organization that partners with those in the business community. For over ten years, R2EE Enterprises has collaborated with professional experts from the business community to provide professional and personal development in the areas of financial literacy. We are also advocates of cultural diversity and mental health wellness. Our mission is "Providing strategies on building wealth and reshaping the culture to those that live in the under-served communities." We also believe in the etymology of the word wealth which means "well being." Angela was also recently recognized by the Texas Metro News as a Superb Woman and someone that is not trying to make history but wants to make a difference in people's lives.
R2EE Enterprises currently provides Homebuyer/Financial Education training. We also provide individuals access to resources and support services for mental health wellness, startup support, job training, and legal/financial planning services. Some have attributed us to being like SCORE.
Angela has a heart for educating and serving the community. She wears a number of hats such as real estate agent, author, writer, speaker, caregiver, educator and community advocate just to name a few. After attaining her real estate license in 2005, Angela launched the Road to Economic Empowerment First Time Home-buyer's Seminar. Due to the lack of financial literacy in her community she later renamed it, The Road to Economic Empowerment Financial Education Seminar . According to statistics, one of the fastest ways to build wealth is through real estate .Studies also show that when it comes to home ownership, African Americans are delayed mainly due to poor credit and having a high amount of debt.
Angela is not a stranger to caring and the cost of caring for the elderly either. For over ten years, Angela has cared for her elderly parents who were both diagnosed with Dementia during the early 2010's. Caregiving for a loved one is an honor but it can also be lonely and often financially tedious. Sometimes caregivers are forced to choose between retiring early or going into bankruptcy just to keep expenses down. As a result, Angela decided to raise awareness by hosting The Cost of Caregiving: Alzheimer's and Caregivers Financial Health Symposium.
The Symposium is a platform where a task force of experts who specialize in the areas of financial and legal planning, elderlaw, clinical studies, nutrition, veterans benefits, and more comes in to offer supportive information to caregivers. Over the years, Road to Economic Empowerment Enterprises has had the privilege to partner with various agencies like AARP, Alzheimer's Association, Dallas Area Agency in Aging, Friends Place of Desoto, and others to provide resources for caregivers to explore.
At R2EE Enterprises we believe in order to have more economic empowerment we must be proactive and intentional about (1) mental health wellness,(2) reshaping the culture by empowering our youth on how to become culture change agents, and (3) improving our financial literacy. In 2023, our goal is to build relationships and partner with government entities and small churches in the Oak Cliff community. Our desire is to create more economic empowerment in under-served communities by encouraging small churches to teach financial literacy after worship services or partner with us to offer financial literacy classes. We believe that in order to achieve more economic empowerment we must master our mindset by being disciplined in our spending and focus on becoming owners versus renters.
Our scripture basis is Romans 12:2 NLT, which says "Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."
